FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Schaghticoke Fair Announces 2017 Fair Theme and Design Contest
Schaghticoke, NY: Celebrating its 198th year, The Schaghticoke Fair is very excited to announce the 2017 fair theme as “A Penny for your Thoughts, A Dollar for a Dream”. The fair will be introducing A Penny for your Thoughts, a Dollar for a Dream into building decor, exhibits, fair entries, and contests during the week of the fair. The theme was selected to highlight the fair’s decision to introduce a $1 Day (Opening Day) this year, as well as to highlight the dreams that the fair brings to life for so many exhibitors and attendees. Allison Acton, a student at Hoosic Valley High School, was the winner of last year's "Made in the USA" theme design contest.
The contest is open to all currently enrolled high school and college students as well as adults throughout the local area. The selected design will be used on the cover of the 2017 fair brochure, the annual fair t-shirt and for additional marketing purposes. Each student or adult that submits a design entry will receive a one day fair pass to the 2017 Schaghticoke Fair. In addition to having the winner's work published, the winner will also receive a one day fair pass with one unlimited ride wrist band, a 2017 “A Penny for your Thoughts, A Dollar for a Dream” t-shirt, and an achievement plaque presented during the week of the fair. For more information on how to participate and the elements that are to be included in the design, please contact the art department at your high school or call Carly at the fair office, 753-4411, x13. All entries must be must be submitted by May 1st.
